Nearly 14 years after their first kiss on a Santa Monica beach, model Kenya Kinski-Jones and actor Will Peltz married at his childhood home in Mount Kisco, New York, this June. The event took place in the same backyard where Peltz had proposed, reflecting the couple’s preference for intimate, family-centered celebrations.
The proposal had been carefully planned. Peltz decorated the yard with flowers, lights, and photographs of loved ones before leading Kinski-Jones outside under an umbrella during a rainstorm. The weather carried personal significance—her late father, composer Quincy Jones, had often told her, “When it rains, get wet.” Once she accepted, family and friends appeared from inside the house to join the celebration.

The ceremony occurred under a chuppah, officiated by Rabbi Steven Jacobs. Kinski-Jones walked down the aisle to Magnus Ferrell’s rendition of “You Put A Move On My Heart,” a song written by Quincy Jones. They signed their Ketubah, a Jewish marriage contract, with Peltz’s parents as witnesses.
The reception honored both families’ legacies. The couple’s first dance was to Etta James’s “At Last,” though Peltz admitted they had not rehearsed.
An unexpected moment arrived when the New York Knicks advanced to the NBA Finals. A television was quickly set up in the cocktail tent, and guests in formalwear gathered to watch. When the Knicks won, the party erupted into a spontaneous soul train line on the dance floor.

“It was a magical weekend,” Peltz said. He still felt as though he hadn’t returned to reality. Kinski-Jones shared the feeling: “I felt completely present with Will throughout, which was all I hoped for.”
Their bond extended beyond the ceremony. Quincy Jones and Nelson Peltz had been close friends for 40 years before Kenya and Will met by chance on the set of the 2011 film Sugar. “There was somewhat of an invisible string,” Kinski-Jones said of the discovery.

Guests received white chocolate Toblerone bars as favors, a reference to Peltz’s favorite childhood candy. Kinski-Jones also wore a bracelet from Claudia Peltz, engraved with one of Quincy Jones’s favorite quotes. “It’s a mindset we strive to live by,” she said.
The wedding’s details highlighted the couple’s shared history. “We’re a come-over-for-dinner couple,” Peltz said. “That’s home to me.” For Kinski-Jones, the weekend merged past and future. “I was coming home to the man who I’ve known and loved my entire adult life,” she said.
