Froseth Stars in Eerie Cannes Film

This year’s Cannes Film Festival lineup includes a number of highly anticipated films, with Nicolas Winding Refn’s Her Private Hell being one of the most talked-about. The film, which stars Charles Melton, Sophie Thatcher, Havana Rose Liu, and Kristine Froseth, revolves around a mysterious mist that creeps into a futuristic metropolis, releasing an elusive killer known as “The Leather Man.”

Kristine Froseth feels incredibly lucky to be at the festival with a cast and film she loves. As a festival first-timer, Froseth jumped at the opportunity to work with Refn, who has directed films like The Neon Demon and Drive.

Filming a horror movie with Refn proved to be a new challenge for Froseth. “Every single day was like no other film set I’ve been on,” she says. Refn’s intuitive and spontaneous approach to directing meant that the script was often changed, with new scenes added or old ones removed, all based on his visions.

In the film, Froseth plays Hunter, a young influencer-type who is obsessed with fame and about to film a movie. The film’s use of Hollywood codes and intentional pacing made it a unique experience for Froseth, who had to adapt to Refn’s specific structure and rhythm.

For the film’s premiere, Froseth worked with stylist Sandra Amador to find the perfect gown, courtesy of a pink-bodice Armani Privé number with a long, black skirt. Froseth says she “screamed” when she first saw the initial sketch of the dress, which was everything she had dreamed of.

They attended parties and dinners, and made time for fun. “I’m lucky to be attending fun parties and dinners,” she says. “I’m just going to be with my cast as much as possible and soak up every moment.”

Up next for Froseth is a return to work on a few other projects, including season three of The Buccaneers in Scotland, and a Netflix adaptation of Edith Wharton’s The Age of Innocence. She’s also set to star in another horror film, The Face of Horror by Anna Biller.

Before the premiere, Froseth shared a sneak peek of her Armani Privé dress, which was literally sewn onto her body to ensure a perfect fit. She also shared photos of her getting ready, including her makeup and hair, done by Zoe Taylor and David von Cannon, respectively.

As Froseth prepared to walk the red carpet, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of excitement and nervousness. “Smiling on the outside, praying I don’t fall down these stairs on the inside,” she joked. With her cast and crew by her side, Froseth was ready to take on the premiere of Her Private Hell.

The film’s premiere was a huge success, with a 12-minute standing ovation. Froseth is grateful to have been a part of the experience, and can’t wait to see what’s next for the film.
