An Iconic Fashion Alcove’s Update on Old-time Allure – WWD

There’s no better way to understand how East could meet West than by visiting Yongfoo Elite, an 18-year-old club-restaurant in the heart of Shanghai’s former French Concession.

Tucked away on a winding street in the former residence of the British consul general, Yongfoo Elite became the preferred hangout spot for fashion insiders and cultural elites in its early days.

Its era-clashing courtyard is made up of a Chinese-styled garden, a contemporary glass house and a ’30s Spanish-styled house. One is teleported to a scene in an Eileen Chang novel, or perhaps a Wang Kar-wai film set.

The storied location has appeared in glossy magazines and served as a backdrop for the Pirelli calendar in 2008.

Yongfoo Elite is the brainchild of Xingzheng Wang, a 69-year-old Shanghai local who gained success as one of the country’s first menswear designers in the ’80s. His brand Sha-Er-Wei, later Jun Long, became one of

Motivating Children in Middle School Physical Education – PHE America

Getting and keeping school kids motivated in physical education is not the easiest task. Particularly for novice physical education teachers, that might seem to be “mission impossible.” Kids come to school carrying different cultures, different backgrounds, and different beliefs. Some kids are athletic, whereas others don’t like playing sports or participating in physical activities. Some of them enjoy competitive sports and others feel uncomfortable getting physical, for several reasons (Grieser et. all., 2006).

The Theory of Self-Determination (Deci & Ryan, 2000), which states that behavior is self-determined or voluntary, includes three types of motivation: intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, and amotivation (Moreno-Murcia, González-Cutre, & Chillón, 2009). One of the challenges for a physical education teacher is to be able to distinguish between the three types of motivation. This is an important factor as it helps the teacher identify the students’ motives in physical education. Extrinsic motivation derives from getting an external

Fall 2022 Men’s Fashion Trends – WWD

Fall 2022 marked the official comeback of the high-fashion days.

Long gone are the sweatpants and couch-friendly ensembles. In their place, chic suits, head-turning coats, monochromatic black dressing, and an empowering broad shoulder silhouette not seen since the ’80s TV show “Dynasty” have taken over, underscoring that a new era of excess — at least fashion-wise — is here.

All that discussion about if men would wear suits after all the casual-style domination during the pandemic quickly evaporated after the chic display of double-breasted and single-breasted boxy styles that infused recent collections with a powerful sense of effortless elegance.

Kim Jones for Dior was one of the best examples of the return to elegance, with an array of double-breasted, tailored suits and top coats paired with minimalist berets designed by the in-house milliner Stephen Jones. The result was very French and timeless. Hermès, Ermenegildo Zegna and Fendi were also presented
